How to Transfer a Singleplayer World to Your Hytale Server
You can transfer your Hytale singleplayer world to a dedicated server hosted with Survival Servers. This allows you to continue your singleplayer progress with friends or keep your world running 24/7.
Hytale handles worlds differently than most games - each universe can contain multiple worlds. Once you know where to look, the process is straightforward.
Step 1: Locate Your Singleplayer World Files
- Open Hytale
- Click on Worlds
- Right-click the world you want to upload
- Click Open Folder
This opens your world directory. Navigate into:
universe/worlds/
Inside this folder, you'll find one or more world folders. Each folder represents a world inside that universe. These are the folders you'll upload to your server.
Alternative Path (Manual):
C:\Users\[YourUsername]\AppData\Roaming\Hytale\UserData\Saves\[YourUniverse]\universe\worlds\
Tip: Press Win + R, type %appdata%\Hytale\UserData\Saves and press Enter, then navigate to your universe folder.
Step 2: Upload Your World to the Server
- Log into your Survival Servers Control Panel
- Click File Manager
- Navigate to:
universe/worlds/ - Drag and drop your world folder(s) into this directory
Tip: For large worlds with many .bin chunk files, you can zip the folder first, upload the .zip, then right-click and Extract on the server.
Step 3: Load Your World on the Server
After uploading the world files, you need to load them so they become accessible.
- Open the Console in your control panel
- Run the following command for each world you uploaded:
world load YourWorldName
Replace YourWorldName with the exact name of your world folder.
- Verify which worlds are loaded by running:
world list
Step 4: Set the Default World
If your universe contains multiple worlds, you can choose which one players spawn into by default.
Run the following command from the console:
world setdefault YourWorldName
This sets the selected world as the main spawn point for new players joining the server.
Traveling Between Worlds
Once multiple worlds are loaded, admins and players with permission can move between them in-game using:
/tp world WorldName
This allows seamless travel between worlds inside the same universe.

Important Notes
Player Data
- Player inventories and positions from singleplayer may not transfer to the server
- Players typically start fresh when joining a server for the first time
- Your builds and terrain will be preserved
Backups
- Always keep a copy of your original singleplayer world on your PC
- Use the Backup feature in your control panel to create server-side backups
Troubleshooting
| Issue | Solution |
|---|---|
World doesn't show in world list |
Run world load YourWorldName to load it
|
| "World not found" error | Check that the folder name matches exactly (case-sensitive) |
| World folder nested incorrectly | Ensure files are directly in universe/worlds/[WorldName]/, not in extra subfolders
|
| Chunk errors/corruption | Re-upload from your backup |
| Can't find singleplayer save | Right-click world in Hytale menu → "Open Folder" |
