Running a Skyrim Together Reborn dedicated server yourself takes quite a bit more setup:

System Requirements

• Windows 10/11 or Windows Server with latest updates
• ~250MB of disk space for the dedicated server binary plus space for save data
• ~1GB RAM per server instance (the server is light; client-side mods don't load on the server)
• Stable internet connection with the server's UDP port forwarded (default 10578)

Installation

• The Skyrim Together Reborn dedicated server (STServer.exe) ships only as a GitHub Actions artifact from the official tiltedphoques/TiltedEvolution repo. Grab the latest windows-playable-build via nightly.link — pull the build, you only need STServer.exe and STServer.dll.
• Drop both files into a new folder (for example C:\STServer\).
• Launch STServer.exe once. It will auto-generate STServer.ini next to the executable and exit.
• Configure your router to forward UDP 10578 to the host PC (or change uPort in STServer.ini to the port you prefer).
• Add a Windows Firewall rule allowing STServer.exe through on that UDP port.
• Edit STServer.ini: set sServerName, sPassword, sAdminPassword, uMaxPlayerCount (hard cap 8), and the gameplay toggles under [Gameplay] (PvP, XP sync, item drops, gold loss factor, time scale, difficulty, etc.). Leave bAnnounceServer=true to list on the public Tilted Online master list, or set it to false to keep the server private.
• Launch STServer.exe to start the server. The console window prints connection events and admin commands (/uptime, /players, /mods, /AddAdmin, /SetTime, /SetDate, /quit).
• Share the server name (or your public IP:port) with friends. Each player needs Skyrim Special Edition on Steam, the Skyrim Together Reborn Nexus mod, and a matching SKSE install before they can connect.

Picking Mods

• Skyrim Together Reborn is built on top of SKSE and works alongside common Skyrim mod setups (Mod Organizer 2, Vortex). The server-side [ModPolicy] block in STServer.ini controls whether clients connecting with SKSE plugins (bAllowSKSE), MO2 (bAllowMO2), or unmatched mod lists (bEnableModCheck) are allowed in.
• Mods themselves load on the client, not the server — the dedicated server has no Mods\ folder. Coordinate mod load orders with your players out of band (Discord, shared modlist, Wabbajack, etc.) so everyone runs the same setup.
• Enabling bEnableModCheck=true rejects players whose installed mods don't match the server's expected list; useful for hardcore Wabbajack-style modlists where parity matters.
