With SurvivalServers
Running your Subnautica 2 multiplayer server is easy!
Without SurvivalServers
Subnautica 2 ships with stock 4-player online co-op only - no official dedicated server tooling exists. Hosting your own dedicated server requires Beacon, which replaces the game's stock lobby/transport with stock Unreal Engine networking.

Why Wait? Use SurvivalServers Instead
Explore an all-new alien ocean world alone or with up to three friends in official online co-op - or unlock larger group play through our Beacon-powered dedicated servers.
Your Subnautica 2 server is ready within minutes of ordering. Retail game install, Beacon framework, UE4SS, and firewall configuration are all handled for you - jump straight into exploring, building, and surviving with your friends.
Our open-source Beacon framework replaces Subnautica 2's stock 4-player coop with real dedicated server hosting. Friends join by IP and port, server runs 24/7 with auto save snapshots, and you get full admin control through the launcher.
Your server stays online around the clock so your group can explore, build, and survive anytime - even when you're offline. No need to keep your PC running, no friend-code expiration, no laggy peer-to-peer hosting.
Choose from Seattle, Los Angeles, Dallas, New York, Miami, France, Germany, or Singapore. Switch locations anytime through our control panel. All locations include DDoS protection to keep your server safe.
Subnautica 2 ships with official 4-player online co-op. We host the dedicated server side using our open-source Beacon framework, and your friends join through the Beacon launcher - no LAN setup, no port forwarding on their end, no peer-to-peer transport. The world runs 24/7 even when nobody is logged in.
Plans are 4, 6, or 8 slots. The base game targets 4-player co-op (one host plus three friends), and our extended 6 and 8 slot tiers use Beacon to raise that ceiling for larger groups.
Beacon is our open-source dedicated-server framework for Subnautica 2 (github.com/HumanGenome/Beacon). It replaces the game's stock 4-player lobby/transport with stock Unreal Engine networking, adds save snapshots and rollback, exposes Source RCON, and supports Lua and C++ mods via UE4SS. Every friend who wants to join downloads the Beacon launcher once, enters the server address from your panel, and joins.
Yes. Your Subnautica 2 world is stored on our infrastructure and Beacon auto-snapshots it on a schedule. You can download backups directly from the panel, roll back to any prior snapshot atomically, or transfer between datacenters without losing progress.
Yes. Beacon ships with full UE4SS integration. Drop Lua mods into the mods directory and they replicate to clients through stock UE5 networking. C++ mods are supported via the UE4SS plugin API. Mods run server-side, so your friends don't need to install anything beyond the Beacon launcher itself.
Seattle, Los Angeles, Dallas, New York, Miami, Germany, France, and Singapore - all DDoS-protected. Pick the location closest to your friend group.
Yes. Upgrade or downgrade slot count any time from the panel, switch datacenter on demand, and cancel any time with no commitment.
Beacon is a community-built mod, not affiliated with or endorsed by KRAFTON or Unknown Worlds. Beacon source + issues: github.com/HumanGenome/Beacon. SurvivalServers handles hosting only.
